Food The Way God Created It

Since I was a little child, I treasured my mom’s cooking — the warmth she brought to the home by giving our family all her love and care through the meals she prepared for us.  It meant a lot to me, especially when I grew up and she would still care for our family eating healthy.

I remember long Winter days (my hometown is well-know for its rain almost during 10 months in a year), me walking home from school, all wet and cold because of the rain and my ‘fragile’ Summer shoes (didn’t have others) totally soaked.  Then my knocking on the door of my home, which was opened (oh heaven!!!) by my dear mom who would hug me and kiss me and take my wet clothes and bring warm clothes (conveniently put near the stove before hand) for me to put on… to only pass to a warm just baked bread with butter that melted in my mouth.  Oh those days!  I didn’t care I only had one pair of shoes with a hole in them because I was happy!

So I mean to take that legacy of my precious mom further and keep on cooking for my family.  From scratch.  I will forever treasure how my mom made our home a haven and poverty did not seem at all that bad!  How true it is that verse that says,

“Better to eat a dry crust of bread with peace of mind than have a banquet in a house full of trouble.” — Proverbs 17:1

And my mom was the best example of a Christian woman that keeps her house in peace.  She knew the influence she had!  And she loved showing her love in many special ways.  Cooking is rather a unique way these days, but I find it totally worthy and honorable to try it.

God bless you!

PS. Did I tell you I am a fan of Trina Holden and her new book “Real {Fast} Food”?  I bought it online for only $6 and I want to print it to start using it!  Below, a video about it:
